Town Receives Funding for Parker Road Multi-Use Trail/Sidewalk Project
The Town of Parker received good news recently from the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG). The upcoming Parker Road Multi-Use Trail/Sidewalk project from Twenty Mile Road to Hess Road (west side) will be eligible for 50% reimbursement on construction costs as part of the 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
This TIP funding is via State of Colorado funding for multi-modal projects. The project is currently under design and will include a 10-foot-wide multi-use trail/sidewalk, plus shoulder improvements. The project is tentatively scheduled to get started in 2021 depending upon available funding.
This project is part of a multi-year effort by the Town of Parker to continue improving multi-modal transportation along Parker Road. The most recent project was constructed in 2018, when a sidewalk was added along Parker Road's east side between Sulphur Gulch Trail and Plaza Drive.
